What is Massage and Cupping Therapy? Cupping is a traditional Chinese medicinal technique in which small glass cups are placed on a patient’s body, creating suction and vacuum pressure. Cupping softens tight muscles, loosens adhesion's and lifts connective tissue, brings hydration and blood flow to body tissues, moves deep inflammation to the skin surface for release, and drains toxins by opening lymphatic pathways. Massage and Cupping therapy is incredibly versatile and the basic movements can easily be customized to accomplish a wide variety of techniques, from lymphatic drainage to deep tissue release. This complements many health modalities ranging from spa treatments and medical massage to chiropractic, physical and occupational therapies.
